Your Data Entry Work Day
"I've got to do my data entry work this morning, but I just can't seem to get motivated."
This is a problem I hear from a lot of people involved in the work from home data entry jobs field. They just can't seem to get motivated. You probably know the scenario.
You get up in the morning and rush or most probably dawdle to the coffee maker or juicer. You have scheduled yourself to start with your work at home data entry jobs at ten AM. Then you tell yourself that you realise the importance of a good breakfast so another half hour goes by. Feeling awake, you head for your workspace to start the day. You turn on the computer and decide to check your mail. "Hey, that looks interesting", and so your mind, which has decided that anything is more exciting than data entry work at the moment decides to take you on a tour of the internet.
"Look at my desk. It's a real mess." Let's tidy it. Rearrange the pens, move last night's take-away (Why did I leave that there?) and generally do anything but do what we should be doing.
Data entry work.
Another cup of coffee, a walk around, lunch-time and before you know it, half your working day has gone and the overwhelming temptation is to say, \“I'll do twice as much tomorrow\”. We've all done it and unless we get ourselves out of the habit, we will continue to do it.
Fortunately, there is a solution to these problems and it is called getting into good habits.
Breakfast.
Get into the habit of doing fifteen minutes of data entry work before breakfast. Correcting any errors from the previous night isn't too strenuous and leaves you with a clean sheet to start for the day.
Turn off those annoying instant messenger programs. Also, if you have email alerts, get rid of them too. You need to be focussed. This is a job and you need to treat it as such.
As to desk tidying. Firstly, get yourself into the habit of keeping a tidy desk all through the day. If you use a pen then make sure it has a home. An old coffee mug makes an ideal pen holder. The old saying "A place for everything and everything in its place", is certainly true in the case of data entry.
There is nothing worse than the smell of last nights takeaway hanging in the air. Don't eat full meals at your desk if you can avoid it. Not only do you risk spilling food or drink on your computer keyboard (This can be costly as I found out with a cup of tea and my new laptop) but if you do eat at your desk, it means that you are not organising your time efficiently by scheduling proper breaks for meals.
Online Data Entry Works?
Remember, data entry work is a job and should be treated as such. Make sure you have the same attitude as you would if you had to commute to the office every day. It takes discipline but one the habits are in place you will never need to worry about lack of motivation again, when starting your legitimate work at home data entry jobs.
